About Our Hospital
Kindred Hospital Pittsburgh North Shore is a transitional care hospital providing specialized long-term acute care for medically complex patients requiring continued care and extended recovery time. Our hospital offer offers long-term acute (LTAC) and subacute services in the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area. We are a 111-bed hospital comprised of 72 LTAC beds and 39 subacute rehabilitation beds. We are Medicare certified and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. We are located at 1004 Arch Street in the rejuvenated North Shore of Pittsburgh.
Our hospital provides care to patients with complex medical conditions, including but not limited to:

- Ventilator weaning
- Pre/post organ transplantation
- Cardiac diseases
- Sepsis
- Complex orthopedic conditions
- Wound care
- Intravenous therapies
- Neurological disease management
- Physical rehabilitation (occupational, physical and speech therapies)
- Diabetes management
- Pain management
Our 39-bed Subacute Unit is located on the 3rd floor. Patients admitted to this unit will receive rehabilitative therapy and will act as a bridge, transitioning patients from hospital care back to the community. Our focus is on providing skilled nursing care, medical management and comprehensive rehabilitation for medically complex patients and those with significant functional deficits.
