Kindred Hospital Pittsburgh North Shore is committed to continue the care!One of our patients has been in and out of the hospital since April. She is only 43, a wife and mother of three young children, and recently diagnosed with white matter disease. This is an incurable, progressive disease.She has had a multitude of seizures and infections which required intubation, tracheostomy and PEG tube. She never complains and always is very appreciative of everything we do for her. Our staff developed a very close bond with her. She knows everyone by name. We transferred her from our transitional care hospital to the subacute unit. She was capped, going to the gym, and started on a diet. On the next day, we all celebrated her birthday. She got to eat her favorite vanilla cake! She was so very excited and happy to be with her extended family here at Kindred and it has been a pleasure to care for her and see her smile.
